Tractor Ride

Justin got the old tractor running, so the boys had to take it for a spin.

Imaginations At Play

We attended a play group on Friday at a place called Imaginations At Play. It was like nothing I've seen before. It was an indoor play area set up with many different stations. Some of the stations included; a hollowed out tree filled with musical instruments, a grocery store, a big bath tub with bubbles galore, a large sandbox/castle, an art station with paint, crayon, and markers, and a few more. Lane and Evelyn loved it. Evie especially loved the bath tub. She was soaking wet by the time she was done playing, and she was wearing a waterproof apron. Lane was also soaked, but it was pouring down rain outside so we were bound to get wet anyway :) Lane ran from station to station and enjoyed all the variety of activities. I think he especially liked the sand station and the shopping carts from the grocery store area.

We also had the pleasure of seeing our new friends Audrey and her mother Debbie. Audrey is a sweet girl Lane's age. We saw them last friday as well and hopefully we will get together again soon. We all had a crazy and wild time at Imaginations At Play.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

The Garden Chronicles, March 22, 2009

We planted our garden seeds today. We went out and gathered our supplies for planting. We used a special soil made for vegetable seeds. Ten seeds of each veggie were planted, hoping we get a few good plants out of the 10 seeds.

After planting we soaked the soil with water and set them in the sunshine. Then brought the trays inside for the night. Hopefully in a week or two we will see some sprouts.

The whole time Justin and I were planting, I was amazed at the idea that so many beautiful delicious veggies come from such small seeds. Life in any form is a miracle and I'm in continual amazement.

Justin Turns 30!

Justin turned the big 3-0 on Saturday. We celebrated this milestone with a family barbeque. The BBQ was tons of fun.

We played some corn hole,

made a small bon fire, Lane and Papaw did most the work. Uncle Brolin helped too!

Justin was in charge of the Barbeque. He smoked the meat for 12 hours. He did a great job of keeping the temperature just right and it turned out delicious.

We all enjoyed each others company and had a wonderful time celebrating Justin's 30th birthday!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello everyone and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! After several rainy days today is full of sunshine and warm temperatures :) It's been awhile since my last post so I thought I'd share some highlights of our past week.

Lane had a ton of fun finger painting. He loved squeezing the paint out and mushing it between his fingers. He got a little carried away and starting painting his arms. His exploration was so worth the mess!

Lane enjoying an extra special treat, rainbow ice cream! He not only enjoyed the taste but also had fun pretending the ice cream was a microphone and was beat boxing. I love his imagination! I was very entertained.

Miss Evelyn Ann looking her cute self, she reminds be of Grandma Whitaker in this photo.

Lane trying out Mommy's new yellow shoes!

He couldn't get enough of spinning in this office chair. He would say "ittle faster mommy!" He was completely dizzy, his little eyes couldn't focus on anything. Lane thought this was so funny and continued to crack up!

Evelyn and I bundled up and went out into the rain to get some pictures of the blossoms with rain drops. She is such a little trooper, she didn't complain once.

And finally a little more St. Patrick's Day cheer. Now I wouldn't normally post a photo like this but since today is a holiday and Lane has Leprechauns on his head, I just can't resist. Hope everyone is enjoying their St. Patty's Day.

Sibling Love

Today at the playground, Evelyn and Lane really enjoyed each other's company. Lane pushed Evie on the swing and she loved it! Evie watched and smiled as Lane climbed to the top of the rock wall. And the sweetest thing ever happened on the play school bus. While Lane and Evelyn were playing on the school bus a little boy came over. Lane quickly befriended this boy and immediately introduced Evie. Lane said to the new friend; "dis evie, my sisser evie." My heart melted and I was lucky enough to have my camera in hand and capture this sweet moment. Lane looks so proud as he is introducing her, and his little hand gently holding her. I'm so happy to have witnessed and captured this moment that will be cherished forever.

Hello Spring!

Today was a gorgeous day that has turned into a pleasant evening. The temperature is currently 78 degrees, with a clear blue sky as the sun begins to set. It's hard to believe that only a week ago we were buried in snow. Lane, Evelyn and I took a morning walk today through our neighborhood and much to our surprise we saw many beautiful signs of spring. I've created this photo mosaic filled with just some of the bright cheerful spring flowers we stumbled upon. We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying March as we greet spring with much relief.

Here is Lane (a little tired from walking) getting a ride in the bottom of the stroller on the way home.

Evelyn Ann dressed for Spring. She is wearing her new spring jumper she received for her birthday from Memaw :)

Little Miss Sassy Pants

Evelyn has learned a new word, "no" and she likes to point her finger while saying it. Here I am telling her to get off the table and she is telling me "no." Ok, so I can see how this could get frustrating but I secretly think it's cute that she is a little miss sassy pants. Shhh...don't tell her that.

Southern Snow

Just minutes after my last post it started to snow! It snowed for hours and we accumulated over two inches. It is quite the wintery wonderland her in Georgia on this first day of March! It was a special treat to watch the snow fall, a comforting reminder of Michigan.

Hello March!

Today we welcome March. It has been raining all day and alternating between hail. I must admit I don't mind the rain. It's very calming, soothing and spring-like. Today not only marks the first day of March but also a new word for the One Word Project Challenge presented by Shutter Sisters. The assigned word for March is "beautiful." I hope everyone is enjoying the first day of March. Here is an image from my Project 365 that I thought was fitting for today.
