The Beach

Yay, we finally made it to the beach! The nearest beach is 45 minutes away, so it took some careful timing. I planned it so that Evie could get a nap on the way there and on the way home. It worked out great.
Once we arrived the kids ran right to the water and started splashing. It was wonderful fun to be there with them. We built sand castles, searched for shells, ate a picnic lunch, watched boats and played in the water. We had the beach to ourselves and the weather was perfect. A short while after we arrived, Lane thought it would be a good idea to take his swim shorts off and run around naked. I let him have his fun for a bit (thank goodness we were the only people there). This child loves being naked and most evenings when Justin gets home from work, he is greeted by Lane in his underwear.
By the time we left the beach we were all sand covered, in need of naps and rejuvenated. It was the perfect day. We are all looking forward to our next beach outing.
